The AmerWeCan Pledge

  • I pledge to enter my best work in the LIA this year.

  • If I am a finalist and end up going to London in November, I pledge to represent, as best I can, the United States of America at the London International Awards ceremony.  This includes, but is not limited to: not talking about politics, saying “I’m from the U.S.” really loud and doing tequila shots.

  • If I win, I will do so politely and with dignity.  Then, I will secretly celebrate the way I really wanted to so that I don’t come across as boorish.

  • If I lose, I will do so politely and with dignity.  Then, I will go back to my hotel room and bite my pillow.

  • I will resist the urge to say I am from Canada when cornered by someone from another country.

  • I will not ask, “what is this?” when the hors d’oeuvres are offered.  I will just take it, eat it and smile.

  • I will not say, “excuse me?” when the bartender tells me that a glass of beer is $438.

  • I will not run up my employers American Express card.  But I will be proud to use an AMERICAN Express card.
